Workplace Wellness Testimonials
Darlene's keynote address on Foods for Great Energy at our
Health and Wellness Fair was wonderful. Many of the participants attended specifically to hear her speak and that had a very
positive impact on the success of our event. The information she provided was timely, valuable, and easy to understand and
apply. We received many favorable comments about the program and Dar's presentation in particular. Thank you for offering
this wonderful presentation, as well as, the outstanding health and wellness programs you offer throughout the year.

“Last
year at this time…I didn’t feel very well.
Thanks to the Health and Wellness Programs here at L&V I
found the help that I needed.
After attending one of the classes [Food and Mood], I had a consultation with Cassie and
we decided that I had a problem with gluten. Since September of 2010 I have lost 39 pounds and lots of inches. I now eat gluten
free, I have so much more energy and I sleep like it’s heaven.”
“The seminar speakers were
very knowledgeable and helped me to understand just how much sugar is in everything and how that affects my body, my mood,
and my health. Having that visual really helped me.”
“The session [private consultation]
gave me new and fresh insight into healthy recipes and snacks. I became aware of vitamins and/minerals plan that is designed
for my specific needs.”
“After hearing
Cassie speak on good fats and balanced nutrition, I decided to give the Nutritional Weight and Wellness way a try. I lost
25 pounds in 6 months, have more energy, and am sleeping better. Getting rid of excess sugar and eating the right amount of
good fats makes me feel satisfied, and I no longer have any cravings. This is definitely the way I will eat from now on!”

I have hosted three Nutritional Weight and Wellness
classes at my employer. Each class: Stress Busting Foods, Five Steps to Boost Your Metabolism, and Staying Well: Strategies
to Strengthen Your Immune System, has been jam-packed with true nutritional information. I have received a lot of feedback
from attendees that was all positive. People were talking about the information and applying it to their lives. Our attendance
was near full each time. These are not boring nutrition classes! Great information and great speakers.

Our recent class, Balanced Food for Balanced Moods,
was attended by over 50 people including parents, health care workers and school children. The class was sponsored by our
school wellness committee and was again well received. We attribute the high attendance at this class to the previous class
we offered through Nutritional Weight and Wellness (They came back for more!), the research-based material, and Tamara Brown's
informative, pertinent message that gave everyone easy ways to make positive lifestyle changes through the foods we eat.
One attendee remarked, "Thank you so much for offering
this class. We learned so much, and had no idea how our foods were affecting us and our children."

Firefighters are used to helping others, and these classes helped us learn to take care of ourselves.
With the daily stressors of being a firefighter, we needed help on how to eat right when there is no time for a “scheduled”
meal. The personalized training we received from Nutritional Weight and Wellness changed our lives and was the highest
ranked training for the year. These classes were more fun that climbing the 100 foot ladder! I would suggest these classes
to anyone who cares about their health.

The lunch and learn sessions presented by Nutritional
Weight and Wellness are informative and also very engaging. Our employees liked having nutrition guidelines that were easy
to understand and apply to their busy lives. Cassie does a great job presenting and always takes time to answer any questions.
I would highly recommend offering lunch and learns from Nutritional Weight and Wellness as part of a corporate health and
wellness program.

Here are some of the comments employees made after Cassie’s nutrition classes:
Louise Hyser, Training Manager
Optum-Health Financial Services
Nutritional Weight & Wellness helped illustrate to my staff of early childhood educators the value and
direct relationship between nutrition and behavior. What goes into a child’s body inarguably impacts their learning
experiences, attitudes and social interactions. If we want to set up a child for success, we need to start by setting
the table.
Many parents were mortified when they learned what the food they fed their child everyday contained.
Due to clever advertising many of us (parents) think we’re providing healthy options for our children. Unfortunately,
we live in an age where foods with a low percentage of trans-fat can be labeled “trans-fat free”. If an
apple only had a little bit of arsenic in it, would it be ok to say it’s healthy and arsenic-fee?
Nutritional Weight & Wellness is about more than weight. Wellness addresses our need for
clarity, enjoyment, fulfillment and health. Hearing real-life applications of nutritional choices that I can make to
improve my life was empowering. What was more important is learning how I can impact the life of my child.

The
seminars Nutritional Weight and Wellness provide include an expansive list of interesting health topics applicable to any
population.
The nutritional recommendations presented are based on the most recent studies, introducing concepts
that are new to the general public.
Nutritional Weight and Wellness seminars
educate and challenge the way our attendees think about nutrition and stimulate discussion after the seminars.
Attending their seminars can be an eye opening experience, learning that the body truly reacts to
everything eaten and food can literally be your medicine.

– These were just a few words heard from employees after the Stress-Busting Food class held at our company. Employees
are still talking about the class and how they enjoyed the class and how much they brought home to share with there families.
With this economy and the stress everyone and their families are facing, it’s good to help employees and their families
out any way possible. Employees at Egan Company loved the class.

June 29th Wendy Cates-Dancer did a presentation on
Foods for Great Energy for Ricoh Business Solutions. Our expectation was to learn how to eat right to maintain balanced
energy throughout the day. Wendy exceeded our expectations and many have implemented better eating habits, which has
helped them have great energy. Another benefit is that a couple of our employees have been consistently loosing weight
since the class. Ricoh thanks Nutrition Weight and Wellness for having a vision of educating people to eat right and
improve the quality of their lives!

The class provided information
on how nutrition plays an important role in the development of a child’s brain and how it functions. It opened
up our “eyes” as to how we as parents can help our children by making simple choices in the food our children
eat.

-Very good information and well worth our time
to attend.
-It is refreshing to learn that real foods are actually good for
us to eat and that we can stop enduring low fat foods that are so lacking in sustenance.
-Great to have NWW back again this year; they really help keep me on track.
-Wow, I can eat and feel energized and still lose weight!

As a gift to the board members of my son's newly formed non-profit
group, Sober Way Living, I asked Dar
to speak to the group on the importance of good nutrition in maintaining sobriety. The group provides housing
and support services for those newly in recovery.
We were able to have several from the group attend this session and
discussion with Dar. The information was straight forward and thought provoking for the members. The Power
Point presentation looked at many aspects of the typical American diet and how it affects serotonin and neurotransmitters
in the brain. This session helped them to realize the importance of making good protein choices and the need to
reduce the sugars and bad fats. Dar gave them the tools to make simple changes in food choices that create balance and
support sobriety. It was a simple concept and something that they can share with clients. Maybe everyone should
be making a protein shake rather than grabbing another diet soda! Food for thought...

“Our staff really enjoyed the presentation and most said
that they learned important things about nutrition that they didn’t know. We asked so many questions that the speaker
could barely get through her presentation, and she was nice enough to stay longer and answer some of our burning questions.
Our staff rated the presentation one of the highlights of our six-week wellness campaign.”

- The information on blood sugar table helped me tweak my diet, lose weight, and feel better.
- I like knowing I can eat as many vegetables as I want.

Dar’s presentations to the Mind/Body Program for Fertility and Family Building are excellent.
The Power Point presentation is clear and research based. Her presentation style is not judgmental or pressuring. She
acknowledges the difficulties in changing eating habits, yet gently nudges people to consider options. She also shares her
personal experiences, which are significant and give her even more credibility.
