Feb 2: Memory (Dar
and Wendy)
The
brain is our most important organ. What are you doing nutritionally to take care of your brain? Nutrition experts know that
real food and key brain supplements are more effective at protecting your memory than working a puzzle. Because your brain
is 60-70% fat, it needs a steady supply of healthy fats. Low fat eating, which results in a deficiency of healthy fats, may
be the cause of your senior moments. Tune in Saturday at noon to learn how nutrition can help keep your memory sharp.

Feb 9: Vitamin D: The Sunshine Vitamin
(Christina,
Nancy and Paul Stitt)
New
research in Circulation: Journal of the
American Heart Association points out that a lack of Vitamin D, the sunshine vitamin, doubles the risk of cardiovascular
disease. We all know that Vitamin D is critical for bone health and acts as a natural antidepressant, but now we know that
a lack of Vitamin D also dramatically increases our risk of heart disease.
People
living in Minnesota, Wisconsin and other northern states have a greater risk of developing a health condition related to a
Vitamin D deficiency. If you currently have osteoporosis or heart disease, maybe it’s time to have your health care
provider test your level of Vitamin D. Paul Stitt, author of Vitamin D: The
Fountain of Youth, and other Vitamin D experts recommend supplementing your diet with a minimum of 1,000-2,000 mg. per
day when you live in areas with limited sunshine. Tune in Saturday to hear more.
