Carbohydrates and Insulin Resistance

What do muffin tops, beer bellies, jelly rolls and spare tires have in common? For the purpose of today’s show, the answer is insulin resistance. Abdominal weight gain is a sign of insulin resistance, and insulin resistance can lead to type II diabetes. Did you know that almost 30 million people in the U.S.—about 10% of our population—have diabetes and 86 million people have prediabetes?
