Kara Carper, MA, LN, CNS

Kara is a Licensed Nutritionist who grew up in a home where home-cooked meals and holistic health were part of everyday life. Her parents believed in a natural approach to wellness—nutrition, herbs, supplements, and movement were second nature from a young age. Even with that healthy foundation, Kara experienced constipation, bloating, frequent illness, allergies, acne, insomnia, anxiety, and depression through her teens and twenties. Those struggles—especially when she felt like she was “doing all the right things”—sparked a deep curiosity about what was still missing.
After ten years in the corporate world, Kara went back to school to pursue nutrition. Through a friend’s recommendation, she found Nutritional Weight & Wellness and began working at the front desk while completing her master’s degree. That’s when many missing pieces clicked into place: she discovered that removing gluten and adding a probiotic eased her bloating and constipation, and that balanced blood sugar was key for steady energy, mood, and sleep.
Over the past decade as a clinical nutritionist, Kara has worked one-on-one with clients, taught nutrition classes, and co-hosted the Dishing Up Nutrition podcast. Her interests have grown to include perimenopause and menopause, as well as children’s and family health. As a mom to a neurodivergent-leaning teenage daughter, she brings both personal experience and professional curiosity to supporting families through different stages of life.
In her counseling work, Kara sees herself as a partner in the process. Whether you’re ready for one tiny change or a full reset, she brings a calm, practical, judgment-free approach—and plenty of encouragement—to help you move toward feeling better in your everyday life.
“I’ve seen lives and bodies transformed after changing a person’s nutrition, and it's truly amazing! When you work with me, I treat you as the unique individual you are. I try to find a balance between meeting you where you are and challenging you to try new ways to improve your health."
